My way of nyckelharpa making is based on a model close to the traditional nyckelharpa, but I was influenced a lot by the construction of instruments in the violin family.

To create the body of my nyckelharpas I bend the ribs into shape by heat. I then join the neck, the flat back and the curved top.
I build nyckelharpas with 4 rows of keys, the tuning is a,d,g,c.
I also build nyckelharpas in octave tuning A,D,G,C and sopran tuning e'',a,d,g.
I add quarternotes if requested by the musician.

I use also the traditional way of nyckelharpa making.

I have adapted a small instrument to children of about 4 years old.
